April @ FIMBY ~ Almost Done Waiting

I've been waiting on April for months.

Organizing and waiting. Reading and waiting. Unschooling and waiting. Cooking and waiting. Hiking and waiting. Praying and waiting.

Especially praying and waiting.

As much as I make a choice to enjoy all that winter offers it always seems by the end of the season, especially during March, that winter is just a lesson in patience.

This winter has been a lesson in many things.

A lesson in hard work, skiing through crud to get to the powder kind of hard work (read the link to understand what I mean). A lesson in trusting. And this past month, a lesson in facing heartache and carrying on in spite of loss.

It's been a long winter but truly it has flown by as we have readied ourselves each and every day for our move next month.

Our move next month.

In one month my husband will be home full time and we will share our days together as a family. I will be able to start implementing some of the ideas I have been nurturing for years. We will be one giant step closer to the freedom we desire and the livelihood we plan to create.

I don't mean to be dramatic here but next month we start a new lifeLife 3.0

In the coming months I will be sharing on FIMBY what I mean by Life 3.0. And I am so excited to do that but seeing as we're not yet out of the starting gate I plan to delay a little longer in posting some of those details.

My plan for April here at FIMBY is to talk a bit about our moving preparations and my personal growth and self awareness as related to our move. More specifically, I want to talk about writing.

I have pages and pages of posts in progress that have been patiently waiting (along with much else this winter) to see the light of day. Posts about my writing insecurities, my passion for homemaking and homeschooling and how I might work through my weaknesses by focusing on my strengths.

I also hope to finally finish the series I started last March on our homeschool approach to learning the "basics" of math, reading and writing. Pages and pages of those notes also sit waiting to see the light of day. Though I am glad to have waited this long to publish them as during the past year I have learned more about the process of writing through observing my own children. Having this experience broadens my horizons a bit of what I had originally intended to post on the subject.

Moving, personal growth and development, writing (as a "professional") and as a learning skill, a bit of organization, a giveaway and hopefully a guest interview are all in the works for the month of April.

Are you excited yet? I sure am. I'm so very excited to get this month under way. In my "real" life and here at FIMBY.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for a giveaway to kick it all off.

What are you looking forward to this month in your own life?

Looking forward to a little more sunshine here in Virginia and a family trip to Washington DC.

You are right about winter being about patience. I can attest to that as well. :)

Best of luck to you all Renee, your words hold great value for me as my own family faces some challenges and uncertainty.

I am looking forward to Spring. If it ever stops snowing.

AND I look forward to hearing all about life 3.0, and cheering you on as your next chapter unfolds - best wishes with ALL of that!

I can't wait to read what you have to share! The more passionate the writer, the easier, more fun, and informative the read. At least that's what I think :0) Thanks for the yarrow by the way! And, FYI, I've order the proof of Inspired Birth! I should have it within a week or so, then I should be able to give you a pub date. Yay!

Hopefully, April will bring the rest of our home things here to our new homestead. Our first move was May 15th. I'm ready to be settled. And to have all my couch cushions. April will also bring our first chickens...the first blooms from the tulips discovered in the melting snow...so many firsts!!!! We're doing our own Life 4.0 here. :) single:married:kids:farm Looking forward to all your news!

So looking forward to what you have to share in the coming days. Actually, anything and everything you share, I love! What a grand adventure this is going to be for you all. I'm so happy that your dreams are coming true, to fruition, especially in having Damien working from home. Home living to the max! (3.0!!)

What an exciting month you have ahead of yourself. I am just looking forward to warm April sun and getting my hands dirty. I like the look of those full journal pages. It reminds me I should pull my journal out more often and write down a few words.

I'm looking forward to hearing all about your dreams and plans. You inspire me to dream and plan as well.

I'm hoping to complete several paintings this month, prayerfully improving my skills with each one. I'm really enjoying reading Twyla Tharp's The Creative Habit and hoping to incorporate some of her ideas into my days (probably not the one where she trains from 5:30 - 7:30 a.m every day).

I pray that all goes well for your family during these exciting transitions! Blessings to you.

I'm looking forward to some exciting things in the months to come for our family, but for the month of April my twins will turn 8 years old on Sunday. Time flies, and I will be 37(I still can't believe that one) on the 11th. And I can't wait to see what you all have in store for us. I'm so excited for your family fulfilling your goals and dreams.

do you mean the moment card? - if so, that's not mine. that was from when I won a copy of Ordinary Sparkling Moments: Reflections on Success and Contentment. My own handwriting is barely legible most days. try as I might I just can't seem to improve upon it much.
