This morning we are going to the mountains for our usual hike. In fact I better get off this computer soon if we're going to leave in time.
Seems like a good day to share the beautiful time we had at one of Maine's nicest beaches last weekend.
We're usually mountain people because we like the activity of hiking. Beach going involves lots of sitting, for the adults that is. But the kids are always moving and even though the water was freezing they couldn't help but go in.
We did manage a bit of non-sitting activity. Flying a kite and walking out to the island since it was low time, a favorite thing to do.
Hope you're all having a great weekend of activity with loved ones.
I love that last photo! Beautifully fun looking day! Nicola
ooooh I love those kite flying picturs! What a sky!
Gotta love a polarizer for "popping" a blue sky.
I should add Damien took that last shot and I edited (cropped, boosted contrast a bit).
Beautiful pictures! We spent the weekend with family. Had a bbq in the rain. It was fun. I had a chance to spend time with my new baby sister.
Celine is getting SO big! You can really see it when she stands next to Damien in a couple of these pictures. She is turning into such a fine young lady.
Is she ever! It's crazy.
You're so beautiful Renee! It's so wonderful to be enjoying the beach before it's too cold to venture near the coast in anything less than a snow suit, lol
where is one of maine's most beautiful beaches? we honeymooned there and I am just curious if you where near Ogunquit (i slaughtered the spelling no doubt), the area which we thought to be thee most beautiful beach in Maine... every time i read your blog i just can't believe that someone actually gets to live surrounded by that much beauty, truly the way life should be!!
This beach is Popham State Park. We don't venture down Ogunquit/Wells way very often. I personally think so many of Maine's beaches are "one of the most beautiful". This just happens to be one of our favorites because when the tide is out you can walk to the little island - the kids love that. And really it's so gorgeous here. And we love the state park effect - not too much housing and development around.
It's been said before, but the last photo is really beautiful, happy beautiful.
Thanks Francesca. It's hard for me to post photos of myself like that. I'm so not composed and very "toothy". But I this is how I like to see myself - happy, un-styled & real.
Oooh, I could tell right away that was Popham! My parents live in Phippsburg. Walking out to the island at low tide has been a life-long thrill of mine. Lovely photos. :)
Oh... what a beautiful place to live and such an interesting history to that area also.
