more handmade ~ just pictures this time

As of yesterday I was starting to get real tired of my writing voice. Then I wrote something in my last post that sparked misunderstandings and I got real tired of communicating all together. After a while it all starts to sound like blah, blah, blah, blah... I've posted a lot this past week, maybe 7 days in row. Yikes. Time to shut up. But I have so much to show off share, thank goodness for photography!

Um, yeah. Getting the whole sarcasm error thingy from yesterday's post. I commented sarcastically on a blog once. The blogger took it personally and instead of choosing to not post my comment, posted it and attacked me! I forget that sarcasm doesn't show through the keyboard. I also forget that sarcasm is not on everyone's radar.

    Shucks!

Love the pics post! (no sarcasm intended) ;)

Pattern used for Laurent's fleece slippers. Damien added plastic rubber coating dots (from the tool, paint, adhesives closet) to the bottom for grippy-ness.

i am so impressed with the talent and creativity in your home. sorry for misunderstanding yesterday. it was not a negative misunderstanding, for whatever it is worth. it is so hard to express meaning and tone sometimes and easy to think people have taken things one writes the wrong way. you are such a kind person, i know you worry and care about these things. i really was laughing at myself. the gift bags are sweet. i admit, we are STILL using recycled bags people have gifted to us in and wrapping paper rolls i trash picked more than 5 years ago! happy weekend, renee! nicola http://whichname.blogspot.com

Thanks Nicola. You trash picker you! (I love picking good trash from curbs). I'm hanging onto those gift bags and will re-use them year after year for our family's gift giving.

I absolutely love the fleece socks! Those are great! Thanks for putting the pattern, too. You know, there for a while you could just go and buy those everywhere, but now they're hard to find.

I love me some good trash picking, too! I'll give you a tip, if you have a flea market or swap meet nearby, start scouting the trashcans an hour or so before they usually start closing things down. You'll find all sorts of things people don't want to load up and lug back home. I got one of those high chairs you belt to a chair in a trashcan... perfectly fine! I still have that ;) And I have found books, junky little action figures that would be awesome to store for those times you really need a kiddo distraction. Nicola's right... people throw away great stuff! Lol... just beware that some people disposing of the trash are hip to this jive and will guard those cans like there's gold inside.

I have really thought about what I was going to do with the x-mas fabric I had. I think I may make some gift bags that I can use year after year! That glass dragonfly is so beautiful :)
