For the past week or so I've taken a writing break. I thought I would spend that time homeschool planning instead. I can't say there has been a one to one time swap. Writing out, planning in. My life doesn't quite work that way.
Taking a little break though was very rejuvenating, or maybe it was just our mini car camping vacation this weekend that was rejuvenating. Either way, bright and early this morning I feel fresh and ready to go.
But it's funny that in taking a break from my writing groove, all my backburner writing ideas, the ones that usually nag me for publication, have quieted themselves down. Sometimes in my own little world I feel there are ideas I just must write, to stay sane mostly but also because I want to share those words, for one reason or another. I have very few "must writes" swirling in my head right now. No wonder I feel so bright and refreshed right now. I have very little mental baggage weighing me down.
While I wait to find my own writing voice again I thought I'd share some inspired internet with you. I borrow that title from Nicola who does a round up each month of inspiring stuff on the net.
Of course the internet is very, very big "place". I consciously limit my time exploring that world (I'd rather explore the world outside my door). So, this is not a huge exhaustive list. Just a few places and people that have come to my attention in recent weeks and months.
Xcessrize Designs - life is too short to carry an ugly bag. I bought a computer bag from Jackie early this summer. I love it. It's well made and is beautiful to boot.
Homeschool Commons - Aadel Bussinger helped me copy edit Eat This. Aadel is a homeschool blogger and has created a resource site for using public domain content in homeschooling. (Celine reads a lot of public domain books on her Kindle).
Preserving Apples Webinar - My friend Katie is hosting an online apple webinar, what a great idea. Canning, saucing, slicing - she covers it.
Happy Mom, Healthy Family (ain't that the truth) - Lisa Bryne from WellGrounded Life recently released a meal planning workshop and cookbook. I am one of the contributors for that project.
Frugally Sustainable - Andrea is building quite an amazing resource at her blog. She has some great soap making posts you will want to check out if you're into that. Speaking of which, I haven't made soap since spring. I desperately need to make a big batch, and soon!
RoTH Autumn Edition - Rhythm of the Home, the quarterly online magazine, has a new look. I was interviewed for this most recent issue.
Meadowsweet Naturals - Waldorf inspired art supplies and natural lifestyle products. A family run business that ships to Canada also!
Whole Food Kitchen - Heather is running another program this fall. I am contributing again, this time on getting kids involved in the kitchen.
Like I said, it's a short little list. I have better things to do with my life than crawl the 'net. Know what I mean? Camping, homeschooling, hiking, cooking summer's bounty, adventuring, visiting family, making new friends, and even some writing.

what a relaxing post. reading about your calm and enjoying life's bounty has changed my evening for the better. looking forward to checking out some of the links you've shared... tomorrow ;)
a question for you, on your first picture, is that your trangia stove (and if so, do you love it)? I tried searching Outsideways to see if there was a post about it but I found only the one about wood burning stoves (which was very interesting). my hubby has been considering a trangia stove lately so when he saw your first photo over my shoulder he made me promise to ask about it :)

Desilou, yes that is a Trangia stove and it belongs to my parents, who bought in on Damien's recommendation. We use a Clikstand stove, which is lighter than the Trangia. Damien also regularly experiments with other stove models that companies send him for review, but our current go-to stove is the Clikstand.

Thank you, Renee, we'll have to consider the Clickstand stove as well then - my hubby is always looking for a quality, yet LIGHT option for our hiking gear, as somehow he ends up carry the largest pack :)
