This is where we were going all along. This is where those fall hay wagon rides were headed. This was the destination, one of the station stops along the track of building an interest-led, relationship-focused, self-directed, and often experimental, homeschooled family life.

We have become home "schoolers" in every sense of the word. Our lives revolve around our kids' schooling. Life has always revolved around our kid's overall well-being and education, but now it's actual classes and coursework, deadlines and applications. Helping them achieve their goals now and for the future.
And then there was a Prom

Our homeschool community had a Prom this spring. Our beautiful, teenaged and young adult kids in fancy clothes, being feted and photographed by their grey-tinged, a wee bit wrinkled, camera-happy, tired but proud parents.

Spring re-orients our linear experience of life (birth, growth, death) to the circular rhythm of the natural world. And in spring I'm reminded that I'm smack dab in the middle of the growing time, a season of life bursting at the seams with creativity and activity.

Craftsy online classes are high quality productions with excellent teachers. You can go through the lessons on your own but you can also host a party with these classes, providing art or craft instruction for teens or adults. There's so much you can do with a Craftsy class.
