Entomologist & Artist

Entomologist & Artist

Entomologist and Artist In Laurent's hands are 2 millipedes, part of his living insect collection that he houses in glass jars all over the house. Except when they escape as 2 critters did today. Behind his head on the wall is a piece of artwork from his art class, exploring ...

Spring struggles

Spring struggles

The first signs of spring are blooming in my garden. Unfortunately I am currently in a bit of a funk that even daffodils can't pull me out of. The days are beautiful, sunny and warm but I'm struggling with mothering and home schooling self-doubts and insecurities. About 2 months ago ...

Week in review

Week in review

Camping in April

Camping in April

Camping in the Living Room The weather here has been fairly cold for this time of year. We got a big dump of snow last week but I have no photo to prove it as I'm not inspired to photograph snow this time of year.

Freedom of Simplicity

Freedom of Simplicity

Freedom of SimplicityI invite you to read the book - it's excellent. If you decide to read it and find the first half tedious you can always skip to Part II on the practice of simplicity. I found Part I, the history of Christian simplicity, fascinating if taken in small ...

Parrots and the Passover Lamb

Parrots and the Passover Lamb

This morning the kids & I spent our bible time in Mark remembering Jesus' entry into Jerusalem at the beginning of Passover. We recalled why the Isrealites celebrated Passover, discussed what it means to sacrifice. And thought about Jesus as our Passover Lamb. Pretty heavy stuff... Then we prayed. Immediately ...
