Taking some time to write

January was a challenging month. Fresh on the heels of a fabulous Christmas holiday and a wonderfully restorative month of December, I hadn't expected to struggle last month.

I had plans. Ahem.

I am spending this week's writing time processing my way through January. Digging to understand January's highs and lows. There are some big things happening in my heart this week as I reflect about last month and press into some deep truths in my life. Truths about who I am and the life I am called to live.

Rooted in love to be set free.

I've given myself permission to take as long as I need to write my way through this which means the blog will be quiet for a few more days.

But I thought I should break the silence here and post something. A few photos will do.

I can't wait to come back with more words, though not in the anxious "my blog will suffer if I don't publish" kind of way. I feel remarkably at peace after a couple weeks of inner turmoil. I guess all that writing is actually helping. I'm sure the prayers of good friends don't hurt either.

By the way, I just want to mention that the Whole Food Kitchen workshop starts soon. Heather has re-worked the course with new recipes and new features. One of those new features is Kitchen Stories. You might want to register just for those stories alone! My contribution carries the same theme as what I'm writing through right now - rooted in love to be set free. Even in the kitchen.

Heather has generously offered FIMBY readers a $10 discount on the course. Just use coupon code fimby2013 at check out to receive that discount on your registration.

As always, I appreciate the raw honesty of your writing. I limit my blog reading to only a few minutes a day, which often means yours are the only posts I read. I have to admit I've missed you the last several days, but its given me the opportunity to delve into your rich archives (and also outsideways--which my husband is now thoroughly enjoying too). Thank you for your honesty and humility, and I look forward to hearing how you've processed the inevitable lows/bumps we encounter despite the best laid plans. Warmest wishes from a faithful reader. :).

Hello Renee @ FIMBY, I am a regular reader and irregular commenter on your site. Recently I was offered a One Lovely Blog award in exchange for promoting 10 of my favourite blogs. I have included yours - if you would like to post about your favourites, the "instructions" are here: http://wp.me/p25oSj-K9 No obligation, of course!

I am glad you are taking time to breathe in. My best wishes to you on your love-freedom adventures. Thank you for replying to my email. I am in my own space right now, trying to figure some things out (and not get too overwhelmed by the things I've piled onto my plate--to use your "meal" metaphor for learning--everything just looks so delicious!)... but I will reply sometime. It was so sweet of you to reply.

    xo

I've missed you too, I enjoy your posts so much. However, I totally understand your need for a break. I hope you spend as long as you need and take comfort in knowing we'll all still be here on your return.
