Alberta Skies

As I mentioned in an earlier blog, I love the Alberta sky. I love the summer bright blue with white puffy clouds. Funny, I didn't take many photos of that typical summer day sky. I took photos mostly of sunsets and stormclouds. I also love the "chinook arch". In the summer you can't call it a chinook but it has that same shape that arches over the sky and brings a changing weather pattern. The sky simply fascinated me. Watching it made me want to have a ranch in the foothills, facing west or a farm in the middle of the prairie with nothing to block my view. But of course practicality prevails - I don't like driving far (more than 5 minutes) for basic necessities. In fact I prefer if I can walk so that leaves me firmly planted on urban soil. Not to mention I live in Maine and really like my life here and appreciate the rolling hills, the lush green trees and lack of gusty wind. Anyway, here are some of my favorite photos of the sky from our trip to Alberta.

I am so with you Renee! I have a thing with the skies! It must drive Zoltan nutty, because I get so so so excited over the skies and the mystery of their creation....no kidding. And don't get me started on clouds, I really really like them!

We were driving home from a b-day party last night and we were able to drive into the beginnings of the sun set, how beautiful! I can't help but be in awe of the beauty of God's creation!

Thanks for sharing your pictures, I enjoyed them very very much!

      Becky,

I think that's something I share in common with you. We're both very expressive. I love that about you! I must drive Damien nuts also with my exclamations all the time about the beauty around me. And yes, I agree - the skies are part of God's artwork and so awe inspiring - How Great Thou Art, I could just belt it out right now!!

Your pictures are beautiful and original. They would make beautiful card fronts eg. birthday cards, thank you cards, friendship cards. So possible with computers and printers these days. Please make me a card with your 'Road to Drumheller' picture. I would love that, especially since we were with you on that road trip!
