Snowshoeing

Sunday was our first time snowshoeing with the kids. What fun! We started easy with a tromp through the woods at nearby Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary. Many thanks to Mom & Dad Tougas who helped purchase the kid's snowshoes with the Christmas money they sent. (don't worry there are presents for them to open Christmas eve from you as well smile). Our plan is to replace our weekly hike with weekly snowshoeing treks. It was fantastic to be out in the snow. Looking forward to many more adventures.

Celine started toting her new ultralight backpack. Her job was to carry the first aid kit (also compact & light) and Daddy's warm mitts. Our goal is to slowly build up her strength and stamina in preparation for backpacking - in the near (within a couple years) future.
