Hitting the wall

I'm so beyond exhausted right now with the work of marriage, mothering and home making. There have been moments of reprieve in the last few weeks, like my anniversary date with my husband on Friday night (photos to follow soon), but as of today I'm running on empty.

So, I'm signing off for the time being. The kids need me, my husband needs me, I need me, my home needs me. Anything I try to sit down and write doesn't ring true when I'm not attending to these very basics in my life.

I'll be back when I can write in all honesty about the fun in my back yard. I hope for my sake, more than yours, this day comes sooner than later. No worries, I'll be fine. Just need to stop and attend to the relationships and priorities most important in my life.

    I'm sorry you're feeling so overwhelmed - that can suck the life right out of you. I hope you get the respite you need and can come back refreshed.

    OK...I've dragged myself away from my selfish feelings of disappointment...I do so look forward to your blog. You are just so REAL and honest...and so not about all the frou-frou, "isn't life just grand" stuff.

    But I do understand and sympathize with your feelings...I have been there before (actually, earlier this summer...yuck!). I will be thinking of you and hope the rest of the summer works its magic...enjoy!

    You continue to model healthy life-choices with your decision to attend to your priorities and let the blog rest for a (short?) season. Thanks for your honesty and allowing us to learn from you, Renee.

    I like what Annette said about being honest and not always "isn't life so grand"....I think that's O.K. sometimes but you don't know how many blogs I refuse to read because it's always so freaking wonderful. It's not realistic. I understand not wanting to spill all of your problems online for everyone too...it's definitely a balance. But I love to read real blogs, from real people with real life issues and how they work it all together to make life interesting, joyful and good despite the sometimes bad that life throws our way.

    :0) Hope you totally enjoy your time off. Find some peace, find yourself again and have a great time with your family! All the best~

    This is so true... blogging feels empty when the life you're trying to write about is depleted. Wishing you some really peaceful downtime and a chance to recharge. By the way... we live in CT, not too far from Maine. Also my husband and I both went to college in the Portsmouth, NH area so Maine doesn't feel to far away.

    I read a story this morning in the "Daily Good" blurbs I get. Here is the link. It's called, "The Happiness Entrepreneur". After reading that, I couldn't help but recall this post from yesterday.

    Rest, Recharge, re-connect with yourself & family.

    This story is alot like what you give to others in your FIMBY Blog Renee....you are an artist of happiness, joy, ups & downs. An Artist who depicts life in it's bare truth, down to earth tones. You touch many hearts, stir the palate with all your yummy, delicious food recipes, and give the eyes photos of life to feast on.... I am blessed by your heart. Take a deep breath and rest. Hugs, Jody

    Catching up on your blog was a much-needed moment of peace and beauty for me this morning. I hope you are able to rest and recharge. And thank you for sharing the link to your CSA photo - yum!!! I am inspired by your commitment to healthy eating.

    Renee, I know how you feel. I'm feeling quite overwhelmed as well lately and a break would be good for me. You do what you need to do and I'll see ya when you're back.

    Take care sweet friend! Lisa :)

    This sounds a lot like where I'm at, which is why, as much as I enjoy blogging, I have stopped obsessing that "it's about time I write another post". Sometimes you gotta just stop all the busy-ness and slow down to spend time with your family. I look forward to catching up with you more when we both come back.

    Wow. Ditto. I've been feeling the exact same way. I have so much going on that I'm unable to focus on blogging -- it's all I can do to post the details of my cleanse!

    I hope the days slow down for you, and you find some moments for revitalization. We all need some of that. {hugs}
