This morning I was melting my homemade skin salve to add more oil. I wish for your sakes this post was a recipe for making your own herbal salve (a healing balm you apply to cuts, scraps, bruises etc...) but it's not because I'm still working out the kinks. Hence the melting and adding more oil.
I poured the mixture back into the tin and set in on the counter to cool. Went to help the kiddos with their breakfast juice. Returned to the kitchen counter and noticed the beautiful and slightly eerie reflections in liquid oil. And then I recalled the inspiration I felt from this morning's Shutter Sisters post. Ignoring the kiddos breakfast (not really, they can mostly feed themselves but sometimes it's better if I supervise the maple syrup pouring) I grabbed my camera, shifted the button to manual focus and clicked away.
And remember this trip last fall where the children made these beauties. They brighten my kitchen window, especially on a gray day like this.
Amazing the beauty you can find when you shift your focus.
wow. totally awesome!
awesome! the subtle tree and the bright dragonfly. different effects but both very cool.
Perfectly said. Love the tree shot.
These photos are simply beautiful!
These pictures are amazing! What else can we shift our focus off of to see more beautiful things?
