Pre-Spring Sewing

The kiddos announced this morning their dolls needed "new spring dresses". I couldn't agree more.

When I was growing up my mom actually sewed me a new spring dress most years until I started to prefer jeans (I haven't outgrown my jeans preference). Except for these little numbers from last summer I have never sewn my girls a dress. I don't see that trend changing any time soon.

My children on the other hand... Now they sew their dolls new dresses, often. I'm glad someone is carrying on with the tradition.

So today they were hand stitching, machine sewing and of course hot gluing the details. Each of their dolls has quite a unique style as I'm sure you'll agree. They came up with the designs all on their own (and the words to describe them) and it's funny how their doll's style reflects their own, except for Laurent. He doesn't actually wear roses and ribbons but he sure does wear a lot of blue and green.
