Wolfe's Neck Woods snowshoeing

Today's snowshoeing was absolutely gorgeous, chilly certainly but so beautiful I felt like jumping up and down for joy. And I did just that trying to keep warm! We went to Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park in Freeport and followed the Ledge Trail through the snow covered pine forest to Casco Bay Trail which followed the water's edge.

The beauty of the brilliant blue sky against the gray & green trees with sun sparkling off the blue ocean water and pristine snow is impossible to put into words. You just had to be there. Despite the cold toes and all the effort required to get out the door on a winter's day there is NO other place I'd rather be, except maybe heaven and my garden on summer day. But quite honestly a summer garden and being in the the woods with my family is heaven.
