Warm air, snow melting on this last day of February
This morning I hung laundry on the line outside
Not the whole load just 5 pairs of pants
I see them through my kitchen window
smile at their stand against winter

I'm enjoying your poetry; really like your last line about the pants in their stand against winter.

Thanks for your encouragement. Glad you "got" the part about the pants taking their stand. I was pleased when that popped in my head, inspired me to write the poem. And to think, I really didn't like writing poetry in school...

Keep writing poetry, Renee, it's lovely. Your children will enjoy your poetry when they grow up, as it is a reflection of who you are and their child life in your family, so, consider publishing a poetry book when you have a few pieces done. Some might even be suitable entries in a children's book. Your husband is an artist. He could probably do interesting illustrations.

Thanks Mom for your encouragement. I've been writing poetry because it just comes to me and is enjoyable. Can't imagine publishing anything at this point but who knows what the future holds.
