I feel a little silly putting this out there because I'll probably look back in a couple years and shake my head. You know how when you start doing something you are so proud of your achievements and then as you get more skilled you feel foolish about your early excitement. Or am I the only one who feels that way?
Well I don't care because I am excited about sharing my first professional photo gig with you. Way, way back in April I took photos for a local dance school mostly as a favor to my friends who dance there and to gain experience in photographing something other than my kids, my garden and trees. It also yielded a free session of dance for Brienne is exchange for my services - lessons she is loving by the way.
Androscoggin Dance now have those photos up on their website and I get a little warm fuzzy (along with embarrassment) that my name appears on every page as the photographer.
I have a pregnancy and newborn shoot for a friend coming up this winter. I have absolutely no experience in that domain, always something new to learn. But I feel much more comfortable photographing trees!
The photos you've shown here are great! Congratualtions.
I mean congratulations, of course :)
That's worth getting excited about!
Congratulations....

They are lovely, job well done...and bartering, how clever you are!
I try to read old essays or papers or lists or thoughts and I can't do it (unless it was really, really good and spoke to me.. it almost had to be an assignment that was non-work and made me pour my heart into it). I definitely know the feeling, but hey, doing similar ventures have helped you get to where you are now, right? Congrats on your first gig!! If I lived anywhere near Maine, I'm sure my mother would hire you to do family portraits (cringing as I write that).
Yay!!! They look wonderful :D

Yay! I'm doing a virtual jump up and down for you! This is wonderful, and the photos are awesome! I know that feeling, however, VERY well!!
Congrats!
Full of Graceful Beauty. Be proud and with good reason ~ you shine! Keep up the wonderful work. You have a good eye ~ but because you "see" with your heart. Treasure every season, each step in your journey. When our children can run, it does not make the memory of their first step any less full of JOY. Blessings & hugs, Jody
You are going to do such a great job with my pregnancy and baby pictures, I just know it! I love how you see details and make them just pop right out! I've got some ideas that we can talk about, but really I'm just looking forward to letting you do your thing! Sometime I'll have to call you so we can talk more details. Awesome job on the dance pictures! If I had a dance class I would love to put those on my website ;0)
I think your photos are beautiful too, Renee. But I just have to say that the subjects are beautiful, too!
I agree. About the subjects that is.
congratulations!!!! good for you for stepping out there and doing something new.
your photos are just gorgeous...can't wait to see more!!!!

AWESOME! What a great first project! And how cool that they let you barter for lessons, too. I need to work on my bartering skills badly.
