Back from Backpacking ~ Content, Tired & Hungry

We just got home from our first "carry everything on your back" trip. The weekend was phenomenal in so many ways. Not what I necessarily expected but so much more!

I will talk about it more this week but I just need to post these photos tonight. Now. That's how awesome our time was.

Go out into the woods with your kids. Set up a tent. Enjoy the sun while it lasts. Sit in a shelter all day in the rain. Play go-fish snuggled in your sleeping bags. Watch the sunrise over the mountains. Pack it all up again and carry it down the mountain. Pick blackberries on the way.

G'nite all.

you must be so proud of your kids. I am certainly impressed. You are right. Forget the lists. Get outside instead. p.s. I love your blog. Thanks for visiting mine today.

Actually, I read blogs on Sunday night...I wanted to check in and see if you posted about your trip. Don't you love it when things turn out sooooo way better than you dared to hope?!? Glad it was good.

and we spent part of our sunday afternoon wandering around completely untamed land that belongs to my husband's side of the family. we blazed trails and sat in deer-flattened grass for a snack. i actually thought of you guys on your trip...your trip of another level. : )

    eager to read more.

I pre-trip post yesterday as the rain was coming down and wondered how you were doing. I am glad you guys had a good time. We climbed Bradbury today and took a nap at the top- all three of us. Nowhere near the level you guys are at but a start.

oh my goodness, those sun rays! i haven't backpacked in quite some time, but it was one of my favorite times. there's something special about backpacking and just picking a spot wherever you want. someday perhaps we'll get to go with you. and gosh, celine is looking more and more like you every day. i can't wait to hear more!

Shawna's last blog post... the catch up letter

Looks like you had a wonderful time in the "bush" Wish I could have been there. We are looking forward to Common Ground.
