Gorgeous photos! I can't wait for fall! It arrives late here - last week we still had upper 90's :( But today is nice, in the 70's, and I see a tinge of yellow on the ginko trees in our yard. Happy weekend!

    Hi Renee,

I wanted to ask you about a post from the past... you mentioned reading (owning?) a book of home blessings. Do you remember the title of that book? We are preparing for our first move as a family of four, after ten years in our home together, and would like to spend some time together contemplating the blessings of a new home.

Thank you for your writing; your blog is my first stop every morning.

    God bless, Brittany

Brittany, that book is To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings by John O'Donohue and it's a a book of blessings for many different transitions and life happenings. Thank you for your kind words (smile).

Sometimes, blessings are in the bright contrasts, like the crisp azure blue of the skies and the vibrant yellow of the birch (or aspen) in the last photo. Many of our trees are showing off their colors in their annual fall march, but over the last few days a strong wind has carried off entirely a whole tree's worth of adornment. One young aspen near our home released all it's leaves in one fell swoop, each quickly dancing and chattering its own way with the gusting breeze. It was a bittersweet beauty.

May this day of rest bring restoration to each and every precious spirit in your household...

There is something so startling and bare in the shift in the quality of light in Autumn that is just so good. The long shadows, the brightness of the sun. We took our two-year-old for a hike around a lake at the base if the foothills here in Boulder, Colorado, and it was simply idyllic. Loved seeing your guest post in Heather's Whole Foods Kitchen!
