Because Why Not

For the past two weekends the kids have been helping Nana & Papa build a garden. There's been lots of digging, mulching, stone laying, and watering. Celine has helped Nana with plant purchases and overall design. Laurent has helped Papa a lot with digging and hauling soil.

And Brienne... well, she lends a certain flair to the whole operation.

To be fair to her, she also is pretty good at wielding a shovel and wheelbarrow. These kids of mine are no slouches when it comes to garden work. Seems I've trained 'em well over the years.

(For all you Maritimers Brienne picked up that skirt at our local Frenchy's).

Don't we all wish we had a bit of Brienne's flair?! You go for it girl! And I can't wait to see how the garden looks! We're doing a bit of garden designing as well, which I'll be sharing about soon.

That thing on Laurent's head is called a buff. They are a multipurpose "tube" that can be fashioned into a hat, balaclava, bandana, or other head gear. We love their versality and style. All of us have one except Celine.

I love Brienne's skirt and her fashion flare. Very color coordinated. That looks like it's going to be a huge garden. I love gardening - flowers and vegetable gardens.

It's actually not that big. It's a mixed perennial/shrub and vegetable garden. Will probably become a perennial bed exclusively in the future but the vegetable garden site isn't prepared yet on my parent's property - maybe next year.

I absolutely LOVE what Brienne chose to wear while gardening (Kalli especially likes the flipflops)! Brienne has already put her beauty into the garden. I look forward to seeing more pics as Celine's design progresses and the "fruit" of Laurent's digging!

I am a fairly new reader of your blog. I would like to tell you that I think it is beautiful and encouraging. I would also like to say how thankful I am to finally find an "earthy", "close to nature" kind of blog, that is written by a follower of Christ. I find that so many are not, and it bothers me that people who love nature so much do not love its creator. Thank you.
