Brienne sledding: when we're not winter reading we're having winter funBrienne sledding: when we're not winter reading we're having winter fun

We're reading a lot of winter books these days. Books of poetry, historical fiction and non-fiction, fairy tales, and just fun, goofy stuff too. Here's four of our favorites this month with a collage and link to more reads at the bottom. Grab a kid, some blankets and cuddle together for some goodreads.

Winter EyesWinter Eyes Such wonderful winter poetry. Makes me appreciate winter. Right here, right now.

Winter Story (Brambly Hedge)Winter Story Pure fantasy and fairy tale. You are going to wish you were a mouse after reading this story. We LOVE this story and have read it a couple years in a row with much pleasure.

Marven of the Great North Woods (The true story of a small Jewish boy and bearish lumberjack and how they became friends under the most unusual circumstances, Winner National Jewish Book Awards, Jewish Book Council) Marven of the Great North Woods Historical non-fiction. A great story of a young Jewish boy's winter in the great woods of Northern Minnesota with a bunch of burly, pork-eating Frenchman lumberjacks.
