Three Days Till Christmas!

my parent's Christmas tree a couple years ago

Today I'm up to my eyeballs in packing for our Christmas trip. Good news is that it's going well.

I think I might actually be on target for tomorrow's very early morning departure (ie: we'll be done and in bed in time to have a good rest before twelve hours or so of winter driving).

But let's pretend for a moment I was staying home and thinking about how to spend these last few days before Christmas. Well in that case I would actually "practice what I'm preaching" at Simple Homeschool today with Three Days Till Christmas: Three Activities Worth Doing.

In all fairness to me though, I have been doing those very things, all month long. We've been hiking outdoors, lighting candles, caroling, playing games and listening to music. Enjoying the simple, beautiful "things" in life.

It truly has been a wonderful month for the kids and I. I didn't have time to blog it all here, too busy living it and recording it in our Christmas journal.

We've had a simple, joyful, and meaningful holiday and our Christmas celebrations with family haven't even begun! I feel so blessed as I sit here and write this, thinking back on a month that went just how I planned it to be (well executed planning and intentional living makes me happy).

This past week I've been finishing gifts, wrapping, making packing lists, finishing menu plans, buying food and preparing boxes of groceries to bring with us. Last night was a Solstice party at friends with platters, trays and stock pots full of amazing farm fresh cooking. I feel blessed. Oh, I said that already didn't I.

Wishing you and yours a blessed three days till Christmas.

I think a meaningful, simple Christmas is what we should all want from the season. With school being out, I have so been enjoying just spending time with the boys this week. Sometimes, that has involved just listening to them play with each other. I have wondered if we should be getting out more but then I realize how happy we are just to be here with each other. Have a great Christmas. So glad I found this space you have created here.

I am so glad I found your blog! I've just started blogging. I have immensely enjoyed reading your posts. So much so, that I put a link to your blog on my post today (The post is actually about your blog.) I was so encouraged that I had to tell others. Have a great Christmas and thank you for the encouragement you provide others! :)
