Secret Santa

christmas gifts

Our family doesn't keep secrets from each other except for those special days leading up to birthdays and Christmas. There has been a lot of behind-closed-doors crafting over the past week and I enjoyed following along with Soule Mama's A Week of Elving posts as it mirrored much of our daily activities.

Laurent and Celine have been pulling some late nighters sewing, glueing, stitching, painting, dreaming and scheming. Watching them create gifts for each other and their relations is like an early Christmas present for their mama.

You know how most bloggers leave subtle hints of what they are making with obscure photos of supplies and works in progress? I did a few of my own photos like that last year.

Well, I'd like to do something different because I want to share now what we have been up to these past couple weeks. The week between Christmas and New Year's I'll be enjoying the holiday with extended family and won't feel like sharing our crafted goodness, I'll have other things on my mind. And come January I'll be blogging about something new and exciting altogether (I can't wait to tell you) and making Christmas gifts will be a far off memory.

But, I want to keep the surprise for our family who will be receiving these gifts. So what I've done is written a post about this year's handmade Christmas gifting (and a few other ideas) on a separate page. If you are family - don't click. I will not be held responsible if you do.

That "secret" page will not show up in your e-mail or RSS subscriptions and it won't go to the front page of FIMBY. You'll have to use this link

Sound fair? I'm excited to share what we've been up to these weeks so do click over if you are not family.

The tea looks lovely. I'll have to remember that for next year. What a great gift! I also have to try the cloth bags next year. Well, maybe I can start in January for next year. I love the finger knitted ties?

Those are crochet chains (I guess you could finger knit them also). I great way to use crochet chains that are easy for kids to do. In this case I made them as my kids weren't too interested in doing my crochet work for me : )

We love finger knitting here but sometimes they get tired of it too. What I would like to do is just have the finger knitting out all year and we'll be set for next Christmastime. Happy Solstice!
