March 18, 2010

As per usual the season is following a timeline of its own, regardless of my opinion in the matter.
After a week of temperatures in the 50's and 60's and days of unbroken sunshine I'm willing to condede that spring has arrived in Maine, weeks ahead of my schedule.

It's felt like a scramble this week to enjoy the sunshine filled afternoons, start cleaning up the perennial beds and search for sun huts, sneakers and bike helmets while attempting to finish the spring cleaning of the upstairs.
Sorting, de-cluttering and cleaning our three bedrooms was my household project this winter and painting the girl's room was the biggest part of that. Trying to finish that project with an early spring arrival has challenged my cleaning and organizational discipline (smile).

Cleaning schmeaning. Spring refuses to be denied so we've played along; the kids do especially well at dropping everything to enjoy warmer weather!

Between spring activities, having my early mornings sabotaged by the time change and the little bit of school I've smooshed into our days (trying our best to keep up with math practice all year round) the week has flown by with nary a moment for mama to write or reflect.
Spring has arrived in all its grass-stained knees splendor.
