on the go

We are traveling through the Gaspesie (prounounced gas-pay-zee) region of eastern Quebec right now. I have no photos to show because we've too busy driving, discovering the land, and meeting new people to spend much time on the computer. This is a good thing for me. This has been an amazing experience and I will be sharing more about it when we are home.

Very briefly, we have been touring around this beautiful, but very cold place, staying and eating with perfect strangers - whose first language is French (we barely speak it). Both the frigid wind off the water and the warmth of hospitality has taken our breath away. À bientôt! (Until next time)

I was just talking about you with my husband (it was good!) and here you are. I have been wondering what you have been up to. Happy New Year to you.

Having your last name certainly helped to engage some conversations (French-Canadian from Montreal writing here!)!

Can't wait to hear about your experience with couch surfing with three kids. Might try that one day with my family!

Damien actually speaks a little French that he learned during a one year exchange trip to France. His limited conversational skills came very much in handy.
