On my first day of vacation...

I washed the car. Washing the car on vacation is a novel thing. It means we have our car on vacation - a first in the 7 years since we've moved to the States. Since moving south (yes Maine is south if you're from Canada) all our long vacations have involved flying to Alberta to visit family. Now that my parents have moved to Nova Scotia we will actually be able to take driving vacations to see family and experience a beautiful part of the country to boot! Since today was a down day, recovering from our through the night driving to arrive at 5 this morning, we stayed around the house and took it easy. But staying around the house at Nana & Papa's new place means swimming in the lake, hanging at the beach and taking walks through the woods - this is cool! Can't wait for the rest of our vacation and time together to unfold.
