Maine culture

Even though we live in a relatively rural area of Maine we have many cultural gems in our backyard. Last night I got to experience 2 of them. Buckfield is a little town about 20 minutes away from us that seems like it's in the middle of nowhere. Several years ago a couple bought a theater in town and have turned it into a charming, first rate facility. [http://www.oddfellow.com/|The Oddfellow Theater] hosts local as well as internationally known artists. It seats maybe 120 people so every show is intimate. Last night I went to hear [http://www.christinelavin.com/index.html|Christine Lavin] perform. What an awesome experience! For you Alberta people, if you listen to CKUA you've undoubtedly heard Christine Lavin's satirical amusing folk songs. I have never laughed so hard at a concert, my cheeks hurt by the end of the night. Before the concert, which I attended with 4 other women, we went for a gourmet supper at the Buckfield Inn. This is a little restuarant in a old renovated home. Very elegant. It was a really great evening.
