July Sweet Stuff

Mama Speak

Homeschool

Urban Homestead

  • We use the envelope system for budgeting (super easy and it works!) but our envelopes aren't near this pretty.
  • Keeper of the Home shares how to freeze blueberries. I totally lucked out and got a wicked good deal, through a buying club, on already frozen organic Maine wild blueberries but I'll do this next month when we pick high bush berries.
  • The Winter Harvest Handbook, reviewed at GardenDesk. I see this book by Eliot Coleman, popping up everywhere. I dream of some year gardening and harvesting year round. If this Mainer can do it then technically I suppose I can too.

Neighborhood

  • So cool to know that we aren't the only family who love camping and backpacking in the outdoors. Earthy Crunchy wrote one, two, three posts about their summer adventure with their 3 kiddos. Yeehaw for hiking and sleeping in the outdoors.

thank you for the link love, again! and thank you for all these links! i am with you on the soule mama stamping. i already saved the link for my next link list. (do you do these for you or others? i ask, because i do mine for me, as a way of bookmarking interesting things for later!) and i am in agreement on earthy crunchy's posts. instead of an increase in backpacking (with kids), we have done less, and i hate that. one thing at a time, we are working our way back towards being more balanced. in the meantime, we still soak up the outdoors in other ways! nicola http://whichname.blogspot.com

nicola's last blog post... happy birthday, dad! (and babble on blogging)

Nicola, I make these lists for myself and others. These are posts that I find inspiring or useful and I want to revisit them and if they're here I know how to find them again. Also, I figure if I liked them someone else might also.

I never backpacked before having kids and still haven't really, except for our winter trek to a cabin, with our gear on our backs. Next month will be our first real backpacking experience. Damien backpacked with friends before we were married.

Thank you Renee for the link love too! I am honored. Several of your links I have been really loving. I saw the envelope system post!! I am also really loving the stamps too. I was thinking I should get down to the art store and get supplies to make some homemade holiday presents. Holiday cards maybe? Thank you again Renee :) XO Kyndale
