Today we celebrated Brienne's birthday and Thanksgiving. For the 2nd year we gathered with Jack & Wendy's family. For those of you who don't know, Jack and Wendy are very good friends of ours, who are surrogate parents and grandparents to our family. We met them through our church about 1.5 years ago and our families adopted one another. Jack & Wendy do not have children but have lots of love to share. Wendy's wonderful cooking and baking have fed us often. They spoil the kids with gifts, attention and affection. They love us and we love them!
As I was saying, this was the second year we gathered with Jack & Wendy's family for Thanksgiving. We went to Wendy's sister's house and had a HUGE feast with the clan. Wendy's sister Robin has 4 teenage sons - lots of food cooked at that house! Celine and Laurent love playing with these guys, Laurent especially.
This year we had the additional celebration of Brienne's birthday. Various family members gave her gifts and she loved all the attention. She's been anticipating her "burday" and the cake and "ice sream" all week. She was a real Dolly, soaking up all the love, flashing her beautiful grin.
