Dishwasher soap - make your own

We ran out of dishwasher soap this weekend and discovered the neatest thing - we can make our own! Dissolve 1/4 tsp of liquid dishsoap detergent and 1/2 tsp baking soda in 1/2 cup warm water. Add mixture to both detergent cups in dishwasher.

It worked wonderfully. Maybe add vinegar during the last rinse cycle of your machine if you're worried about spots.

Ok, you may want to experiment with this a bit at home. I can't give my full endorsement to this concoction yet (I thought it was too good to be true!). This morning when unloading the dishwasher the kids found quite a few still dirty dishes - hum... The first load we tried wasn't this way, maybe I just rinsed the dishes more....
