It was a real treat to celebrate Brienne's birthday with my parents, a first for our family. At my request and to my delight my mom (the master baker) made the birthday cake with help from Laurent and Brienne. We had a great day together and invited our friend Kati to go bowling and join us for supper.

Happy Birthday to you Brienne. Wow, it is hard to believe that you are 5 years old now! Such a big girl with a cute smile. What did you get for your birthday? What kind of cake did Grandma make for you? It looks delicious.
