Blog maintenance ~ check it out

I'm in the garden this gorgeous Sunday morning and this afternoon I will be back to my regular post, in the kitchen preparing farm fresh soup for unChurch tonight and picnic lunch for tomorrow's trip to the ocean. Maintenance work, but so very enjoyable on this sunny September day.

Last night I stayed up a wee bit too late doing some maintenance work on the blog, but that was a lot of fun also. I love creating things, even if it's just blog buttons!

New Buttons

If you only read my posts in a reader, facebook or via e-mail (I'm kind of curious how many of you do this) please do visit the actual blog and check out my new Useful Posts buttons. You'll see them on the front page and they also appear on individual posts as well. I've noticed these popping up on the blogs I read and I certainly don't want to be left behind (ha, ha!).

Photo Gallery

And in case you've never looked I have a photo gallery on my blog that is quite easy to navigate through since Damien fixed that for me a couple months ago. The best way to view the gallery is to select a category title and then click on a photo. A slide show format will pop up and allow you to scroll through the photos.

I'm pleased to say I did a photo shoot this past week for a local potter and I'll let you all know when that work is featured in the gallery (and send you over to her etsy page which is what the photos were taken for). Here's a sneak peek:

FIMBY organized

Another thing you may not know. FIMBY has 4 different sections that I categorize my writing into:

- the life of 3 creative, home educated kiddos
  • Urban Homestead - homesteading, without land and chickens
  • Neighborhood
  • - life and adventure beyond the homestead

I also use these separate pages to feature other blogs, specific FIMBY posts, on-line resources and books related to that subject. It might be useful if you are wanting to read further on the stuff I write about here.

Why I Blog & Am I Getting Rich Doing So

And in case you aren't clear exactly why I'm spending my time writing here you can read my why I blog post and to further clarify my intentions for this space please read the FAQ & Fine Print.

Thank for visiting and hope you're all having a wonderful long weekend!

Renee - could your blog be any more beautiful? I am weird in that I won't read a blog if it does not appeal to me visually right from the start. Your blog draws me to read it(sometimes too long) because of how well it is designed. Just the right balance of words and pictures. Your pictures are so stunning. Your words are so real as well. You have so many talents. Thank you for doing what you do!

What a pleasant gift with my morning coffee! I have always felt your BLOG was Well DOne.... and then today.....Well, Just when you think something can't possibly be ANY better ~ It was like someone setting setting a fresh cut flower on the breakfast tray (as if I am actually lucky enough to be being served coffee in bed -- NOT!) I am back to work after a luscious, long, holiday weekend.....LOL. But, Never-the-less, I am thankful for the many wonderful delights you post on/in FIMBY. Beautiful. A perfect example of the Ordinary day to day, being the Extra-ordinary! Life IS good...Isn't it!
