A hike in the woods

The kids & I took an impromptu hike yesterday. The day was simply too gorgeous to pass up. The path was a new find for us and we were delighted by the autumn woods, the river seen through the trees, an old cemetery and even a little waterfall. All just 5 minutes from our home.

It looks beautiful. I would like to walk there the next time when we come. I still see lots of green leaves on the trees. We are way ahead of you weatherwise. All the leaves have turned colour and fallen off the trees already here. The trees are bare and there is heavy frost on the windshield when I come off work in the morning. It feels like winter is just around the corner.
