I love my girls. They hold that special mother-daughter (on the way to becoming my best friends) place in my heart.
But Laurent, he's my boy. And the apple of my eye.
(In case you're curious, Laurent is using the watercolor opaque paint set from Stubby Pencil. A relatively new addition to our art supplies and Laurent's current favorite. I recommend them, and so does he.)
Laurent is very talented! Do you or your husband like to draw/paint? I know what you mean about him being your boy. I have that same type of relationship with my son. It's so sweet.
Art is definitely part of Damien's genetic make up. His Oma was an artist, as was/is his uncle and other relations. There isn't a lot of drawing/painting in my family background that I know of.
Damien won't admit it but he is very artistic (at least in my opinion) and would draw me sketches when we were dating (sigh...) and did some amazing art as a young man. He considered a career in architecture because of the design aspect but studied civil engineering because of the science. Now he's a computer programmer/writer/adventure and his artistic expression comes out in those areas. But Damien is a natural drawing artist. He uses drawings and art to explain things to me and the kids and I think he's very talented.
Yeah, that boy is talented! Not only can he capture life but, judging from other things of his I've seen on this blog, he sees beyond the surface to the nature of things. He knows how to use line and colour and shape not just to record but to evoke. It's a gift, no mistake.
Our boy, Adam, is still too young for any of the more refined stuff to be apparent, but watching his personality unfold is pure joy. We're also going to home school and are eagerly awaiting the revelation of his gifts and interests. I only hope we can provide as open a space for him to explore in as you've provided your kids.
That picture of the apples is lovely! He is incredibly talented that one.
And my son is the apple of my eye. I understand exactly where you are coming from :)
He's got some natural talent there. I love that painting he's doing!
Oh my. That is absolutely amazing artwork!!!
Wow! He is a natural. He has inspired my son who happened to see this post. Now he is asking for watercolors. We shall see what comes of it.
what a sweet post.
He is indeed very talented (and cute!). My newly-minted 11 year-old got the Copic markers for her birthday (she dreams of a publishing a manga).
As the mother of two little boys, I think the relationship between mother and son is a unique one, one I wouldn't change at all. Laurent, he just sees things in a special way, doesn't he? Beautiful apples.
WOW I am super impressed! He is very talented. I have that same apple of my eye, he is seven and totally beats to his own drum.
Um....wow?! What a talented child. As a mum of two boys I know what you mean, they drive me crazy yet fill me with such insane love every day. Plus I never know what they are going to come up with!
We love these paints! And the one-by-one replacements? Brilliant. Happy creative time. His work is lovely.
He is so very talented. I love those apples! And thanks for sharing which set that is. Nicola
