Feels like fall

It's all fine and dandy on the on last day of August to declare you're living summer till its final moment. Such statements are understandable since you're at the beach and the sun, sand and surf are making you deliriously happy.

But although summer doesn't officially end till 2008-09-22 15:44 certain facts from this past week cannot be denied. The gotta-get-into-a-routine drive kicked in, full gear, so we started our back to homeschool schedule. The temperatures dipped and I wore 2 layers of fleece one afternoon. The city maples are turning red (their country cousins always start earlier sometime in August). Woolly bear caterpillars are once again roaming the fields. Farm markets are bulging with bags, baskets and bushels of apples. And all of sudden (I swear I didn't see this coming) it's pitch dark by 8:00pm. Where did summer go?

So because I have no choice, the season is already here, I'm ready to embrace fall.

Not sure if these pictures depict summer or fall. I think they fit nicely in the either/or category of early September.
