I love this month

Montréal is treating us fabulously well. I haven't felt this light - mentally, emotionally, physically - for a long time. Years maybe.

I think it's because we're here with so little stuff and with a clean agenda. There's simply no cclutter in my life.

I also love new places and new people. Maybe I thrive on new experiences?

We're here to see and do. To explore and have fun. To meet people and connect.

And we're actually doing it. Living the way we want with our family. Not just dreaming about it, but doing it.

I feel like saying "yes" and pumping my arms like I've scored in some sports game.

I told my family at supper tonight I love that each day is open to whatever. I'm not living by the calendar, or a to-do list. And except for a few dates with friends and family, I'm not planning any farther than one day in advance.

My family looked at me and said, "who are you and where is our real mother?"

I'm cooking easy, yet healthy meals and somehow pulling that off in a less than well stocked kitchen. I don't even have a salad spinner. But honestly when you have good wholesome ingredients to start with it doesn't need to be fancy.

And I think that's it. Life honestly feels very simple right now. Simple foods, a clutter free house, homeschooling stripped down to the bare basics, living in the moment more than I have for a long time.

I could get used to this.

I love it! That is so awesome, the feeling of being right where you want to be! I do feel that some days, and I think as the weather warms up and I am decluttering more (on a kick of sending stuff to good will right now) that I am feeling more free and at peace right now. After spending so much time preparing for this moment, you must be feeling grand :0)

Well this is fantastic. I'll bet it was just what you needed. I hope you remember this wonderful feeling and try to bring some of it back with you when you return and try to recreate that feeling when you need it most. I'm very happy for you Renee.

I love simple. How wonderful that you are living it and loving it with your family!

At least you have your pressure cooker right? haha!

Your post makes me ask myself how I can simplify areas in my life. There really is much more peace there.

This is exactly the feeling I love about our summers in PEI (where I grew up) and also about camping/hiking trips (although the latter have more of an agenda!). that feeling of endless possibility, clear minds (mine at least!), and openness to what comes. And that feeling that everything has its place and there is no room for physical or spiritual clutter. Love it!

Do enjoy your time there! You are in the neighborhood where my dad grew up and I have such fond memories of it!
