He's still too cute for words

I took this photo five years ago. His first pair of goggles. A gift from Nana and Papa for backcountry sledding adventures, our family outdoor winter activity at the time.

He's grown. And the adventures have gotten bigger and the gear a bit more complicated but he's still too cute for words.

Mothers are blind when it comes to their boys, you could say we're smitten.

I love my children, of course. And there are no favorites in our home, obviously. But each of my children shares a unique bond with me, and with Damien, a place that only they occupy in my heart.

Laurent occupies the Laurent space in my heart. If you're a mother, you know exactly what I mean.

For the record, my children, one of whom is a teenager and another who will be in twenty-six days, love it when I share photos of them on the blog. In case you worry I snap pictures against their teenaged will and force them to put a happy face on my blog. Ahem.

As they are getting older I feel myself exercising caution as I share about them on the blog, their portraits, their stories.

I respect my children immensely and as they become teenagers, or thereabouts, I ask their permission as to what I post about them here. They have never once complained or questioned my desire to talk about them. Some of you have asked, no they don't mind that their mom blogs about them, especially since she adores them

Also, that green neck warmer Laurent's wearing? That's from January Baby. No, he's not modeling. We all have them and we love them. I can't believe we've lived this long without fleece neck warmers! We got them early this month and they have been constant cold weather companions.
