When we got back from our little trip there was an e-mail from our realtor saying that our loan application was all done and ready to close. We also found out at the sellers wanted to close 2 weeks early and they asked us if we would be interested in doing that. We were interested but not if it was going to cost us more money. So we negotiated back and forth a bit and they ended up paying our rent (at our current house) for the month of July in return for closing today.
So, we just got back from the mortgage broker's office and we officially own our "new" house. Now, we have 2 weeks to finish packing, move in and clean up. We're thinking we might have time to paint the living/dining room area this week. Which would be great. Also hoping to remove the carpet.
YIkes, can you believe it. We actually own our house and to think we just put the offer on it 3 weeks ago.

Congratulations on buying your first home. So what colours are you using to paint the living/dining room? Can't wait to see the video/pictures! You guys have moved so often, you must be "travelling light", not having too much time to accumulate "junk" between moves. We have lived in our house for almost 10 years and we have started packing too, just to be ready when the place sells. Sorting through 10 years of accumulated junk is quite a task and quite hard to do when we also plan to downsize for our next move.
