Field Day

Yesterday Celine and Laurent participated in a homeschooler's group field day. They ran a 50 yard dash, did relays, a potato sack race, 3 legged race, egg drop race and some other fun and goofy stuff. It was a gorgeous day - finally. Celine and Laurent have never participated in anything like this before. They had a great time with their homeschooling friends and we met some new families.

Celine is so not competitive. Laurent is selectively competitive. In the 50 yard dash he didn't notice that 3 kids were in front of him but he did notice that he beat the young boy running next to him! We certainly aren't encouraging them one way or the other - if they want to compete that's fine but I'm glad they are such good sports and are at the age when they are active just for the pure joy of movement. It was so much fun to watch!

Here's some highlights: {img src=show_image.php?id=636 width=400 height=267 align=center}

    Sounds like Celine and Grandma Tougas share something in common here. Grandma never likes to compete either. Great pictures. Sounds like they had a lot of fun.
