My father-in-law passed away this weekend. This is one of the few times I've felt blog speechless.
Obviously this is a private family time and yet my relationship with him is a part of who I am. And so I am left floundering for words that I can express here. I've taken to my journal; this is not the time and place to blog what is on my heart. Someday I hope to share because the thoughts I have are precious and good. And those are the kind of thoughts worth writing and remembering.
Thank you for keeping our family in your prayers. This is a hard time but it is also a time of thanksgiving and remembrance. I am grieving and yet I'm grateful as I remember my father-in-law as a faithful husband to the wife of his youth, a father to four fine children (one of whom I am so privileged to be married to), a gentle grandfather, a talented guitarist, a skilled woodworker and handy outdoorsman.
A wonderful man and a life well lived. And at the end a faith that carried him home.
