We met our Kickstarter goal! Now what?

Earlier this week we had a little family celebration. Brienne even made tapioca pudding for dessert and everything.

We met our Kickstarter campaign goal for our video series project!

We're relieved, Kickstarter is an all or nothing crowd funding site, if you don't meet your goal, you don't get any of it.

We are appreciative, so very appreciative. We worked our butts off on that campaign - producing the video, writing the content, and then marketing the heck out of it (in a way that felt right to us). If you want to see all the blogs where our project was mentioned check out the list at the bottom of this page. This does not include all the Facebook and Twitter activity. Let's just say social media rocks!

With the funds in place we now need to pour our energies into producing an awesome video series, about a family on the Appalachian Trail. We're up to that challenge.

I really want to say thank you. I don't exactly know how many FIMBY readers supported the campaign. Damien and I have diverse online networks and we pulled every string we could to get the word out about our video series. I don't recognize many of the backer names, but I will say the first backers were FIMBY friends and that meant so very much to me.

Thank you for your support of this project. I am so excited about delivering a video series, into your home, that you can share with your family and friends, about our adventure on the Appalachian Trail. I want to encourage you to dream up your own family adventures and to make those happen.

Let the work begin!

Can you still support the campaign?

Why yes, you can! Because here's the thing, you're not just giving us money, for free, you're investing into a project where you get something in return. What you get in return is access to the videos.

By supporting our Kickstarter you are essentially "pre-buying" a subscription to the video series.

Our video series will start the end of February, we're getting the schedule hammered out with our editor right now. (It's real, it's real!)

At that point it will be available for anyone to purchase either as subscription, or by individual episode.

The best price though, the best deal on the series, is by supporting the Kickstarter campaign at the $50 level.

That will give you access to all 20+ episodes as they are released, several times a month. Becoming a backer also gives you an insider connection with the project.

We will be surveying our backers in the coming weeks to ask them what they want to see most in the first "getting ready for the hike" videos. These videos will be available in March.

Want to know what our kids really think about doing this? (Their answers might surprise you.) Support our campaign to pre-order your access to the videos.

What if you have no funds now but still want to watch the videos?

The videos will be sold, as a subscription series, or per episode. You will have access to them later if you are low on funds right now.

The Kickstarter made the video series, as we envisioned it to be, possible (can I hear a Hallelujah chorus?), and so we needed that pre-support. But if you can't financially swing it till later, you will still be able to watch the videos.

To say we're excited about this project is an understatement. But like with any quality work, a lot of hard work goes into it. We're committed to doing the work. And if you want to get in while the goin's good, I invite you to support our campaign before it's closed next week.

And, in case you didn't catch it the first time. Thank you.

Thank you. Thank you... Merci beaucoup...
