Christmas Stories: Walk to Bethlehem

I love taking pictures this time of year. The quality of light is so beautiful, especially on a sunny afternoon. January is actually my favorite month for photographing the winter light, but December is chock full of festivities and decorations of the holiday season, the twinkly lights and trees, and (hopefully) snow. All of which beg to be photographed.

I do my best to oblige and heed the call to capture that beauty. But because my posts these days tend to be wordy and take weeks to publish from start to finish, the potential exists for a lot of that December beauty to stay stuck on my computer instead of being shared here.

So I'm going to try something this month called Christmas stories, which will be posts featuring a compilation of photos around an idea or experience of the holiday season. They will be mostly photos, not very many words.

I'll start today.

Brienne was in a theatrical production this Christmas season called Walk to Bethlehem. There were weekly rehearsals through the last half of October and all of November. Production weekends fell on her birthday and then again the following week, on mine. Which definitely changed the flavor of our birthday celebrations this year but hey, we were celebrating someone else's birthday.

Walk to Bethlehem is an outdoor production and is a popular holiday outing and tradition, thousands of people attended this year. Walk to Bethlehem has a large cast of actors and singers and it brings together people from all over the area to make it happen. It was a gathering place for many of our church and homeschool coop friends, spread out as we are around the Montreal region.
