Or at the very least she's got a lot of spunk and fashion "ingenuity".
I love Brienne's unique sense of fashion and the way she pairs her reds, pinks, blues and purples. The more patterns, stripes, flowers and outrageously loud pink the better.
Here she is looking like a gypsy while "cooking" in the backyard.
I made that apron in junior high as a home economics sewing project. I never particularly liked the apron but hung onto it years after I stopped using it "in case my kids might like it". Brienne loves it and wears it outdoors, for play and even while helping me in the kitchen!
Brienne's bitty twins sit in the stroller watching the action.
This week we went to the symphony orchestra youth concert and the day felt rather warm and spring like, inspite of the grey rain. Warm enough, Brienne figured, to wear her fanciest flip flops.
But not so warm that she didn't need her fleece scarf and winter hat. Go figure.
Gotta love that girl's style.
Awesome! I love the unique style, but even more so I love that they're cooking outside! Did you takes these with your SLR?
If only the food was edible! They raided the compost heap for ingredients.
All these photos were taken with my Nikon D300. We're getting another camera, a Sony (you might have seen Damien's tweets) so I'm not sure if that is what you are asking about.
Yeah, I know about the Nex that is broken at the moment. :-) I've been tetering between going that route or upgrading my D40 to a D7000. What lenses are you using?
I use a AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D and AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED
A lot of the photos you see on FIMBY, especially indoors but also the outdoor shots on this post, are captured with the 50 mm. I LOVE that lens.
Most of the photos at Adventure in Progress, like the ones on the photoblog are shot with my 18-200 zoon lens. But I love using my prime lens. Someday I'd like to figure out a prime lens for the outdoors. Too much research and too technical for me to wrap my brain around right now. I should get Damien to look into it (smile).
She sure does have style and I love it!
Oh, I love it! It reminds my of my almost-five-year old.
I love it too!
I LOVE her sense of style!
Love the photos Renee! Your girl is beautiful!
That's adorable. I just imagine that some kids have style like hers and the parents don't let them express it. We need more of your kind in this world. It would be a more loving and accepting place. ♥
Actually, all your child seem to have a great sense of their own style. Love it! Also love the last photo.
I really should proofread my comments before I post them. That should read "all your children". oops.
I have a seven year old daughter with a similar sense of style. I love it. I look forward to her outfits everday.
Reminds me of my youngest - she is very intentional about what she wears and it rarely matches. It used to bother me and now I love it!
I think it is great when our little ones make up their own style and go with it. I feel like because there is little peer pressure with being homeschooled and all, they get to hold on to that "style" as long as they want.
:)Lisa
I think your Dolly and my Lala would get along fabulously! What a cutie she is!

I've always called this girl our Bohemian grandchild. I love her look - there's a part of me anticipating when some of her fashion freedom will rub off on me.
