Coming up very soon, hopefully tomorrow, is a post on salad. "Ohh... ahh...", you're all saying. Hey, salads are healthy & salads are fun - really.
I've been reading the book Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder while munching my lunchtime salads and you can check out a post I wrote about kiddos and the outdoors (and catching farm frogs) over at ADVENTUREinPROGRESS. If you don't get over there, because you either don't care about kids or the outdoors (gasp) let me summarize it here: kids should be outdoors - lots.
Be sure to come back tomorrow (or maybe the next day) for everything you want to know about eating salad. You'll be glad you did. Well I can't guarantee that but I hope you'll be glad you did.
i have wanted to read that book. is it good? and i completely and totally agree. kids should be outdoors a lot. all sorts of outdoors. the back yard, the hiking trails, the park, the beach, you name it! and salad? yum. i grew up eating salad like we were bunnies. nicola http://whichname.blogspot.com
nicola's last blog post... date night
I loved that book! It's a must read for everyone not just parents. I've quoted that book at many a city council meeting, including one in which a new riverfront park was purchased! It's important for parents, but its also incredibly important for community members.
Kathie, that's so awesome that you are concerned about the children in your community. We need more community members like you in our cities and towns!
I love salads too. I have a great salad I tried the other night. Lots of veggies and rice and lemon. yum!
Kids need to be outside as much as possible, I agree. How is the book so far?

Hi Renee,
I'm looking forward to the salad post! As the days are getting warmer, I'm craving more and more salads.
The book sounds interesting. I'm not surprised that nature is so good for kids, and I'll head over to your post to read more.
