Fall Leaves at Bates

I got a phone call this morning from my husband on his way to work. He had spotted the leaf blowers on campus. The kids and I had been waiting for this official report for the last couple days. Every year around this time the college blows all the leaves into piles and then collects them and dumps them, somewhere.

When Damien started working at Bates, 2 years ago this fall, we discovered the joy of jumping in these huge piles of oak and maple leaves and we look forward to it every late Oct/early November.

Today did not disappoint. Oh, the smell & crunch of leaves... and the pure joy of making a mess with no consequences. The kids and I had a blast, came home thoroughly dirty and "leafy". A fantastic fall afternoon.
