2016 Seasonal Art Wall Calendars for sale

In September I posted about the newest addition to Laurent's studio, his Wacom tablet. Much sketching and painting have been done with this tool since he purchased it this summer.

This digital tool has opened up many doors for Laurent to experiment with new techniques and play with new projects.

I am very pleased to present Laurent's most recent project - a 2016 wall calendar.

As with most of Laurent's artistic offerings he has partnered with his sister Brienne to bring this project to life. Laurent does the artwork and Brienne manages marketing, customer service, shipping, and other administrative tasks. They make a good team.

From Brienne:

This 2016 calendar has 12 beautiful drawings, greet each month with a seasonal nature drawing. The calendars are available this week only, so don't miss out. Each month's artwork can be framed to enjoy for as long you want. A calendar would make the perfect gift to give to friends, family or for yourself.

Calendars are sold in two formats: regular weight glossy and cardstock glossy. They are available to purchase until Saturday, November 21. If you order this week, they will be shipped in early December to the destination of your choice, in time for holiday gift giving.

Calendars can be shipped directly to friends and family. We are happy to include a gift tag if you specify your purchase is a gift!!

    These are so beautiful: Laurent's hours of practice (months!), his passion and talent has flowed to the "canvas". I envision them as artwork on a wall, to be appreciated and inviting conversation. So delighted to see the calendars are now available for purchase. Placing my order today - love it that this Christmas shopping can be delivered directly to the recipients!

    Yes, Damien! I would order blank note cards with Laurents drawings on them!!! You don't even have to get all of the drawings in a group. Whatever is most economical.   I NEED notecards.

    I must be old school because I can't envision not having a wall calendar :)  I also think it's great to have it on the wall (especially for homeschoolers) so you can teach young ones the concept of how we keep track of our year.  How many days till x event for instance - and we count it out on the calendar.  You need a visual to be able to do this in the most practical fashion! And you don't have to worry about it being charged up to see it!! lol!  By coincidence I was looking at calendars today at the mall and wasn't drawn to what there was.  I think I was waiting for this one. Compared to the fluff and gloss I saw this is so down to earth and real that it's peaceful and calm to look at! Beautifully done!!! Can't wait to get it in the mail!

      I'm going to weigh in on some "old school" comments.  I agree about the hard copy calendars - excellent for scheduling, documenting, love messages, etc. Yesterday - Nov 16th - I listened to an interview with Sherry Turkle,"Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age." (on the Current: Canadian Broadcasting Corporation radio 1) who had some excellent points on the social media/device reliance and immersion. Loved this piece of advice: give your kids (and yourself) an old-fashioned non-digital alarm clock with a battery and leave all devices out of the bedroom and in another room. Personally, as a coach and educator in holistic health I love this idea, especially for teen-agers, many of whom are sleep-deprived at an age when they need more sleep than ever.

        I use and love a digital calendar for scheduling. But also love a wall calendar for easy visual reference and beauty. If something is going to hang on my wall, it needs to be beautiful. 

        As a mom and a (minimalist) - in brackets because I'm not hardcore but I have very "keep stuff to a minimum" tendencies - I don't have an issue with digital devices in bedrooms, serving as alarms, or for other purposes. That's how we set alarms in our house.  Also, for some people, like my husband, that is how he reads - books, articles, reviews, blogs etc.

        Tools are not the problem, how people use them is the problem. We always must work to overcome barriers to communication but most of those barriers are in our hearts, not in the devices we hold in our hands. 

        Kids are not sleep deprived because of devices only (or because of any other single reason, people generally love to point fingers at technology as the big baddie in our lives). They are sleep-deprived for many reasons - family schedules and perhaps, unrealistic homework/study/school expectations? (This is not my area of expertise).

        I guess I just take issue with pointing at single simplistic causes as being the scape goat for societal problems (teenaged tired-ness, family disconnection, or whatever).

          It's good dialogue - with this issue as so many others, we swing from one side of the pendulum to the other to find our balance :)

            I agree, there is a pendulum and it's also generational. After commenting here I went to discuss this with Celine, a digital native. Celine is well-read in issues relating to technology but of course her bias is for technology, as that is her experience and her world. She also approaches ideas with logic and can find holes and flaws in arguments, on both sides of an issue.

            Younger people lack wisdom, which is why they need our guidance, but generally they are not fearful of the technology they do no not understand, which is more common in older generations, "I don't understand it, therefore it's bad", "it's not how I was raised, therefore it's not good", etc.

    Beautiful work, Laurent. Let me know if you choose to offer a card set. I don't really buy Christmas gifts for people and I already have a 2016 wall calendar purchased.

    The boys love having a wall calendar to look at so they can see what's coming up in our schedules (since they don't have a digital calendar like their parents do) and I can't think of a nicer one than one that their buddy has made! Very inspiring to have a friend's artwork throughout the year. Thanks, Laurent, for sharing your skill and creativity with us!

    I'd like to clarify my comment that we don't use a wall calendar.  Indeed I don't.  But I also do not use any sort of electronic one either.  I need the hard copy visual and I need it available to the family.  I have a good size desk calendar.  No space for art of any sort, just fully functional and no frills.  My husband is electronic but I just can't manage to get the "whole picture" via that method.

      What an interesting discussion this sparked on the merits of wall calendars vs. digital tools. I hope you didn't feel villainized for a simple comment about not needing a calendar. Isn't it interesting the assumptions we make based on a comment like that. I am just as guilty of doing that, jumping to conclusions based on simple statemenst (though not in this case, I don't care what or if people use calendars).

      It's interesting to me also, how because technology/digital stuff is implied - if you don't use paper you must use digital - a whole discussion of use of technology is started, with varying viewpoints. And all on a very simple post. Haven't had this much debate and discussion at FIMBY for a longt time.  

      Either way, if you're not too turned off by the whole thing... cards are now available. :) For people who want to buy the art but don't use paper calendars for practical, religious, philosophical or digital reasons (hee, hee...)
