The chaos is actually over (for now). Our black trailer pulled out of the driveway yesterday and now sits at our next home, which we'll move into in early July.
The boxes got packed and loaded. The bags for Montréal were packed and not loaded. Phone calls and e-mail for banking, insurance, and satellite internet installation (for the next chalet) - those got done too.
The kids did their whole gig completely themselves. Packed their toys (I packed all the craft supplies before I left for Céline's birthday trip) and clothes and chose their must-haves for Montréal. They each have a backpack and a "carry-on" bag for the car. I have no idea what's in those bags.
Today I deliver the tomatoes to unsuspecting friends (who can turn down a friend on your doorstep bearing tomatoes?), clean the chalet and cook a couple meals. The calm after the storm.
We did it. Again. I can't believe it. Third time's a charm? Third time is definitely not charming. It's as chaotic as any other time. But it's over now and I am just breathing a huge sigh of relief.
my favorite dishes, before I packed them, all gifts
I haven't taken many photos of the moving process that I care to share here (really messy and all) but I have taken a few. I love bright colors - green, blue, yellow, red - I noticed those in my packing.
I've also included a picture of our next semi-permanent home. The chalet is currently being renovated and we got a sneak peak last week at the progress. This is the kitchen and the loft.
The space we are moving into is amazing (and still unfinished, the reason for our month in Montréal). I couldn't help but notice, and photograph, the color in this chalet.
The color in this chaos of moving and packing and traveling.
The color of my life.
Renee, where did you get the little plaque with the Campbell quote on it? I love it--both the display piece AND that quote :)
I got that gorgeous plaque from Mary Burrows. She has mbartstudios, an etsy shop. Mary advertised with me a couple months back and her work is so wonderful. I LOVE her plaques.
your new space looks wonderful, renee!! enjoy your time in montreal, what a fun experience for your family.
I can't wait to see your space in Montreal and the new Chalet once it's done. Enjoy your new adventure in Monteal!
You must be getting good at this packing stuff! I hope you have a safe trip! I LOVE your new chalet; it looks so open and spacious! Much love!
I've taken a little blog moratorium, so I am catching up. Looks like I'm right on time--after all the heavy lifting is done ;) Happy travels!
Yes, good time to tune back in. The work is over and now we play in Montréal!
Renee, I am always blessed and amazed at watching your life unfold, watching the ever changing easel that your adventure is on....as you & Damien, and really our God, changes this line and that one, shades this spot and adds more light to that one....Beauty at it's Creators Best!
I love you all dearly and truly wish you pleasant trails and sunny skies, Where Ever they may lead. The Father has you all in HIS hand ~ No better place could you be! xoxo
