The boys are in the mountains today skiing. We girls are at home.
I don't mean to be sexist here but the truth is sometimes the girls slow the boys down. (Sometimes we kick their butts too, like Celine's dogged determination on our backpacking trip last summer.) And though our boys are very patient with us we wanted them to have a day alone of skiing where they could just - go. And not wait for the more reluctant (female) family members.
I suppose this might happen more as Laurent grows into manhood and is chomping at the bit to do hardcore stuff with his dad.
Anyway, I needed a break. A Sunday to sleep in, to stay in my pj's all day if I want. A Sunday where I am not hauling my you-know-what up a cold snowy mountain.
Today's the day. Perfect timing since it's the start of Daylight Savings and I need all the extra sleep I can get with the time change.
I found a video explaining Daylight Savings Time at Sorta Crunchy this morning. I thought it was helpful to explain why the powers that be make us suffer this way (I do struggle with the spring sleep loss).
I can't get the video embed to work, you can watch the video at Sorta Crunchy or here.
Wishing you a happy Sunday outdoors, or in my case, a day in my pj's watching a chick flick with my girls and chilling out together.
Breaking News: The boys just drove in. The mountain was too icy from the rain we had this week and after one run down they decided to come home. So I guess we will see what the day holds...
So...what did your day hold for you, in the end?
We sent the boys to the local ski hill. Not exactly budgeted for but they needed to be out and we needed to be in. The girls and I watched Monte Carlo and stayed in our pj's till about 4:30pm. The boys got home shortly after that and we all went out for coffee/hot chocolate/tea together. A very good day.
Sounds very nice :)
Such a glorious day in the snow, I can only imagine what your meal was like after so much adventure within your hearts.

I get terrible jet lag twice a year because of Daylight Savings! :) Over here, we're not changing the time until the end of March (I believe - unless of course it changed yesterday and no one told me!), a date I actually look very much forward because finally the days get longer. Glad you had a quiet day in.
