Christmas Happiness

Happiness is:

  • eating my Mom's healthy, gluten-free (on account of Damien), gourmet cooking. Oh my goodness she is such a good cook.
  • arriving a day earlier than planned to avoid the nasty weather even though it meant driving 12 hours through the night (not so happy).
  • singing candle-lit Silent Night at Christmas Eve service, the look of devotion and wonder on the elderly tenor's face in the choir.
  • opening gifts made with love, or purchased with care and conscious, fireside on Christmas Eve.
  • my kiddos cozy in their new sewn-by-Nana pjs.
  • the look of delight on my parents face when they opened our handcrafted gift (pictured above).
  • drinking my Dad's homemade lattes out of ceramic bowls.
  • falling asleep, all by myself, on the couch besides the crackling Christmas Eve fire.
  • sleeping in Christmas morning, listening to the sound of wind and rain outside.

Wishing you a happy Christmas Day with family, good food & lots of love.

Ooooh, that is an awesome frame!! Did you cut mats yourself as well? That's one thing that has been on my list to learn for quite some time now.

We cut the mats but they are not beveled in the corners like a traditional mat. We bought the mat paper and backer board at a local framing place. My builder-husband takes all the credit for those frames, he did an amazing job.

This frame and the pictures it encloses was such a special Christmas gift. It's hanging in the spot where we used to have our clock; now I can say 'Hi' to my grandkids several times a day.
